The First Snowfall

I love snow. I have loved it since I was young. The felling of waking up and finding the ground covered in a white layer of beautiful crystals. Knowing that in just a few hours the sun will melt it away and it will be gone.

I have lived in Wisconsin my entire life. Which means that for the last 19 years I have experienced snow at least one season out of the year. I love sledding and snowball fights. I love waking up in the morning on Christmas morning to see snow on the ground. I love just going outside and looking at the trees and seeing them glitter.

Some people never get to experience the joy of snow. There are times that snow can be a pain in the side. One thing that I don’t like about snow is driving in it. It is icy and slippery. It takes time to develop skills to drive in the snow. I also don’t like snow drifts. They can get up to 8 feet at times. But those are the only things that I really don’t like about snow.

Snow is so much fun. There are a lot of different things that you can do in the snow. Snowmobile, snow ball fights, sledding and skiing. There is a feeling that you get you wake up and see the first snowfall of the season. I hope that everyone gets to have that feeling one time in their life.

Life Goes By To Fast

It seems like the first 18 years of your life going by so slow. All you wanted to do was leave the nest. Hang out with your friends and experience new life events. But then that all changes. After 18 though everything changes. Life goes by so fast.

It feels like the last two years of my life has gone by fast. I cannot believe that almost four years ago, my niece and nephew were born. I have watched them both grow up. I saw them walk and talk. I cannot believe that they are going to pre school next year.

School is going so fast too. It feels like I just started my first day of college. Searching for all my classes. Ruining between the halls trying to figure out where all my classes where. Now I am in my second year of school and starting my first clinical this spring. I couldn’t have even imagined this on my first day.

I wonder if this is just me or if others feel like this too. How come for the first 18 years of our lives it seems to never end and then all of a sudden you cannot seem to stop and take a breath. So the thing is that take a break and took what you have accomplished in your life. Take some time and talk to the people you haven’t in a while. It is worth it, trust me.

What I Am Thankful For

Thanksgiving is right around the corner, so I am going to take a moment and thanks those people who are a part of my life. Thanksgiving is all about be thankful for something. I am thankful for the people in my life.

First I would like to thank my mom. She keeps me going, tells me that school will be over soon enough and then I can start the rest of my life. She not only helps me with school work, but also listens when I need someone to talk to. She is first and foremost the person who I want to thank the most.

Next comes my brothers and sisters, along with my niece and nephews. My niece and nephews are a huge part of my life. They make me laugh and relieve stress when I see them. My brothers and sisters need to be thanked because they push me to my full potential. They make sure that I know what is important in life and what I need to do to make sure that is fulfilled.

The last people I would like to thank is my friends. They are always so patient with me. They understand that sometimes I don’t want to go out. They also understand why I am in a bad mood at times. I want to thank them for being so understanding with me.

There are so many things that people are thankful for. Money, food, and other material items. What about the people in your life. Who are the people that are always there for you and are you always there for them?

My Calli

She is big, soft, black and cuddly. She is obnoxious and she is a friend. She is 3 years old, but in her years she is 21. She is a good listener and always there when I need her. She is Calli. Calli is my black lab.

I got her when my family lost my yellow lab, Abby. When I went to get her, she was the one that was calm and nice. She wasn’t rough and wasn’t interested in what her brothers and sisters were doing. She did her own thing.

We brought her home and she was the same way for a while, and then she turned. She became hyper and was always wanting to take down our other dogs. She started by nudging your arm, then it became a full on jumping on you. She does sleep in my bed and she does take up a lot of room.

Calli is a friend. When I need to vent, she listens, well that is what I think. She loves to play and she loves to meet new people. For anyone who doesn’t like dogs, come and meet Calli. She is so lovable and she is becoming calmer by the minute. My Calli is the best dog in the world.

Adventures With Ben

So everyone has those stories almost being the hero. Well that happened to my oldest brother and I this weekend.

We were up in the Appleton area and my brother wanted to look at some new cars for his wife, so I decided why not. Well I should have said no because what happened next was not good. We stopped at a dealership and right away I knew it wasn’t good.

We had a “pretty” dealer. A smooth talker with a great smile. He told us to come inside and that we would talk. We really didn’t want to, all we wanted to do was to test drive a SUV. We arrived inside and sat down.

He asked my brother all his info, and my brother gave it to him. Then my brother asked about the price on the cars. This is where it all went south. They started to argue. My brother then said it was time to leave, thinking he was joking I stayed seated. He wasn’t joking.

We started to walk out, mind you they were still arguing. I thought I knew where I was going, but I didn’t because I led my brother to huge class windows not doors. So our great exist wasn’t a great exist. The dealer ended up telling us how to get out. Let me tell you something we felt really dumb after that.

All in all this trip was fun. It is funny now, and in the car on the ride home, but not when we were in the dealership.

FOOTBALL

I love football. It doesn’t matter what kind of football it is. From little league to the NFL. Football is the best sport to watch not only at stadiums, but also at home. Football is a huge part of this country millions tune in to see who will won the superbowl, or if your favorite college team will be going to an all important bowl. Personally football is a huge part of my life and has been since I was born.

My first memory of football is when I was around three and hearing my family yelling and screaming at the TV. What where they yelling at? The Packer game of course. What family in Wisconsin hasn’t yelled at the Packers once in their life. It is a way of life. Every state has their team in which they are invested in and are care for. I love the Packers, always have and always will.

High school football has also been a huge part of my life. My second oldest brother was a varsity player his entire high school career. I remember going to his games and cheering him on. I remember when he went to state and won. I remember how happy he was. I felt so proud when he came to my school and showed off the trophy that he got. Now it is my younger brothers turn. I am so proud of him. He is a junior and is on varsity. He just won his second playoff game and is on to his third. I love going to his games because it is not just about winning it is so much more. High school football games are the best.

Football is not just another sport. It is so much more. It shows the players teamwork. It shows them that one person cannot win a game, but working together can improve their chances of a winning season. It also shows the players that winning isn’t everything. I always tell my brother before his games that all he has to do is have fun. Winning isn’t everything, just because you won a game doesn’t mean that you will be in the NFL. Football is so much more than the big hit and the number of touchdowns a quarterback can have in one game.

Attention Holiday Shoppers

The holiday season is upon us and I would like to take it upon myself to tell everyone why it is not nice to be mean to the workers at the store. I work at a department store in West Bend and this will be my fourth holiday season. All I can say is that people get meaner every year.

I can understand that holiday shopping is a big deal. People get stressed and then they get mad. People want to get the perfect gifts and they want the people to be happy, I can understand that, but what I cannot understand is why people have to take it out on the employees. Stores cannot stock everything that everyone wants.

I work as a customer service desk specialist and I cant tell you how many times I have gotten yelled at by customers because we don’t have a product. I do not order the products, I have no control over it. Sometimes the stores don’t even have control over it, corporate orders the amount of products that they believe the stores would sell. Also don’t yell at me because we don’t have enough sales floor teammates, we cannot have one teammate per customer, they are doing the best they can.

All I am saying is be patient and don’t get mad. Now there are times that customers have the right to be mad and get angry, but don’t take it out on the employees, take it up with the higher up individuals. The holiday season is a stressful one, but think about what it really is for and enjoy everything that you have.
